Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the Communications & Social Media Specialist fills a new role in the marketing team to develop and implement IGLOO’s web communications strategies. You are passionate about the Internet and produce creative marketing and business writing both for print and on the web. A skilled SEO business copy writer/editor experienced in social media, Facebook, Twitter and blogs are not foreign terms to you. You will write web page content, short whitepapers, press releases, advertorials, research keywords, blog, comment, tweet, broadcast, write SEO copy, develop and manage social media content, and update our social networking presence on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
Guide and execute IGLOO’s web page strategy
Conduct, report and implement keyword research for marketing projects
Assist with defining and measuring SEO metrics and key performance indicators
Develop and circulate press releases and eNewsletters
Support ongoing media monitoring and reputation management
Set up, develop and manage blogs and social media profiles and presence Write landing pages for campaigns
Assist with creation of company marketing materials
Organize and execute client interviews where necessary
Meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent SEO copy writing skills – concise, simple and effective
Deep understanding of and a keen interest in Internet marketing
Understanding of search engines, SEO, blogging and social media
Link Management and Link Building experience an asset
Marketing and corporate communications background
Press release or newsletter writing experience a must
Understanding of industry editing standards, i.e. Canadian Press style guidelines for online content.
Demonstrated long and short sales copy writing portfolio
Demonstrated ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently on projects and also collaborate as a team member
Excellent analytical, organization and communication skills.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in marketing
• Five or more years experience in a communications role
• Two or more years experience in web communication strategies
