Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not applicable
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Manufacturing company
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Windows, General office equipment, Electronic Mail, Electronic scheduler, Word processing software, Spreadsheet software, Database software, Inventory control software, Internet browser
Purchasing Clerk Specific Skills: Review requisition orders for accuracy, Verify stock availability from current inventories, Obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers, Calculate costs of orders, Charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts, Process purchases, Resolve delivery and other problems with suppliers, Set up and maintain inventory control system, Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and records, Complete and process international purchase orders, Knowledge of Canada Customs regulations and guidelines
Inventory Clerk Specific Skills: Verify receipts and packing slips, Conduct quality control, Record the quantity, type and value of stock on hand using computerized or manual inventory system, Monitor inventory levels of issued materials and stocks, Compile inventory reports, Prepare requisition orders to replenish stock, Reconcile calculated inventories with physical counts
Additional Skills: Perform routine clerical duties, Perform various administrative functions, Provide information on materials available, Provide customer service
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail
Other Languages: German
